Before any services we'll speak about your specific goals and needs so we can develop a personalized training program that's right for you and your dog. For petsitting services, the in-home meeting and key pick-up lets us all get to know each other.
* First key pick up is free and we'll keep your key on file. Subsequent key pick ups or returns will incur a charge of $10 each time.
Our classes are small, personal and customized to students' needs. This includes scheduling so please call us to find out about upcoming dates and times. All classes are held in the North Austin area.
For puppies 6 months and younger, this class is designed to develop a strong foundation of basic obedience, learning skills and doggy manners. I'll cover problem behaviors such as housebreaking, crate training, nipping and jumping. Your puppy will also learn cues such as sit, down, coming when called, leave it, take it, stay and release and more. We'll then take the learning to different locations and work under distractions to solidify your dog's training. In addition, socialization of puppies at a young age is incredibly important for them to grow up well balanced and this class will be a great opportunity for that. Unlike other trainer's classes, we will start out discussing everyone's problem and comfort areas so we spend our time most effectively on what everyone would like to get out of the class.

For dogs of all ages - you can certainly teach an old dog new tricks!. If you have a smarty pants at home that could use a fun challenge, join us for our Tricks Class. Your pup will learn new and impressive party tricks such as shake, spin, play bow, wave, roll over, play dead, back up, speak and more. Just like the other classes, each session is personalized and based on what you want to learn so you'll be free to make suggestions on tricks you'd like your pup to show off with at your next dinner party.
Prerequisite: Clicker training and basic obedience. When you give us a call, we'll talk about your pup's past training and if we need to, we can have a quick session to get him/her ready for class.
If you're having specific issues with your dog, we can address them in one-on-one consultations in your home or the problem area. Together we'll discuss the root cause of the problem, how to manage the environment, positive alternatives and the appropriate consistent training and reward/punishment techniques to eliminate the issue. Private lessons can also be held to work on specific cues with your dog for a personalized training session. Sessions last an hour and all members involved in the daily routine of the dog are invited to join.
Having your dog walked by a Certified Dog Trainer gives your dog the unique opportunity to be a step above the rest. This service turns a typical walk into a positive learning experience and is great for dogs of any age and at any level. Young puppies will benefit from both the physical exercise of playtime or a walk as well as the mental workout from training and older dogs can always use refreshers on their education or learn fun new tricks. Having a tired dog - both physically and mentally - means a more well-behaved dog. Boredom is the most common cause of all behavior problems and my Train + Walk sessions can help your dog focus his energy.
When we leave our animals at home, my furbabies are always on my mind. Are they getting any attention? Do they have enough food? You can rest easy in your time away from your kitties and doggies with us. I'll always treat your animals as my own and I don't set a time limit for the visit. Regardless of whether it's just a daily walk or you're away for days, my time is based on what your furbaby needs. He or she will always get lots of love, playtime and exercise in addition to a pottybreak or clean litterbox, food, water and treats if allowed. If you need medication administered or other special tasks, please let me know and we can make special arrangements.
